ClaimCheck · research desk

Build a traceable source trail.

Search the official portals yourself, then record what you actually received. A document receipt is a lead for review, not a finding about status, ownership, boundary, access or value.

Check both public claim-map layers

This retrieves exact-serial rows from BLM’s not-closed and closed GIS layers. A returned row is a dated map-data observation. A missing row in either layer does not establish case status or absence; the closed layer has limited update coverage and case files can lack mapped geometry. The accepted location notice and BLM case reports still control the next review.

01 / Official case

Start with BLM records

Search the exact serial and name in the BLM MLRS public portal. Capture the Serial Register Page, case actions, customer report and any legacy serial crosswalk. Compare exact identifiers and dates across the original reports.

02 / Ground & instruments

Resolve the legal footprint

Obtain the accepted location notice and its legal description. Find county location and transfer instruments from the appropriate recorder. Check mineral estate, withdrawals, land manager, roads and permissions for that actual footprint.

The MLRS research map commonly shows quarter-section level geography. It is a screening map, not a monumented claim boundary.

Document receipt ledger

Choose an original file to calculate its SHA-256 fingerprint on this device. The file itself is not uploaded or put in the JSON. Keep the original separately for human reconciliation.

Imports restore receipt metadata only; re-match originals and re-run live sources. All receipts export as RECEIVED_UNREVIEWED. A fingerprint records file identity, not authenticity. No status, title, stakeability or value conclusion is produced here.
